Pema Wangchuk Dorjee is a Sikkim-based journalist who has covered the region since 1994. He is currently associated with Summit Times, an English daily published out of Gangtok, as consulting editor. He has co-authored, “Khangchendzonga: Sacred Summit,” a book on Kangchenjunga, the third-highest mountain of the world which the Sikkimese revere as the abode of their guardian deity. More recently, he co-edited, “The Birds Have Lost the Way,” a collection of essays on Sikkim’s experience with hydel projects and climate change.
