Kaspar Wan is a proud trans-man from Hong Kong, who has acquired gender X on his Australian Passport. He has made an award-winning short documentary on his journey of finding himself – “Kaspar X – If I Had a Soul”. In 2015, Wan established Gender Empowerment, a charitable organisation that supports trans individuals at different stages of their gender transition and works with different stakeholders to create social changes. He also received the 2016 Hong Kong Transgender Inclusion Champion Award.
Over the past decade, Wan has participated in various regional and international conferences concerning trans issues, including the WPATH Symposium, the Asia Pacific Trans Health Blueprint meeting and the “Being LGBT in Asia” regional dialogue organised by the UN.
