Jeong-Hyun Lee (PhD, North Carolina State University) is an Information and Communication Technologies and Development (ICTD) Fellow at the United Nations University in Macau. In her research she seeks to critically examine political and ethical issues related to digital storage and algorithmic processing of emerging media operations. She is currently investigating connected histories related to artificial intelligence and its cultural applications across Asian countries, focusing on how social discourse and algorithmic operations are reinforcing or transforming inequality in the context of globalisation.
